Abstract :
One of disagreements between Turkey and Greece during the peace negotiation in Lousanne was the exchange of the Turkish and the Greek populations and this problem was solved reciprocally according to the contract and protocol signed in 30 January 1923. Turkey allowed to the settlement of refugees from various the Balkan states for immigration and inhabitation. Turkey, in the same way, allowed to the refugees from the Eastern provinces. One of the places where the refugees were settled was Yozgat, which took place in the Ankara settlement area and had available lands for agriculture and houses for living. Immigration to Yozgat continued until 1938. In this article, the settlement processes of the immigrants coming from the Balkans and the refugees coming from Eastern provinces to Yozgat have been studied in the light of archival sources.
