Abstract :
After the industrial revolution, women in the West, determined to remove the dust on the men. In the framework of the sovereignty, visible, tangible developments have occurred. Acquisition of rights-based women s organization founded on feminist theory began to be universal. Acquiring the woman s property, inheritance rights and the demand for representation in Parliament has been the main requests. They will also be inherited to the Ottomans afterwards. Women around the world, have started monitoring developments closely in the West. With the modernizing efforts beginning through Tanzimat in the Ottoman, women s problems were raised through literature and the press permanently. Constitutional Monarchy II has inherited this experience and gave the possibility to diversify further the discussion and to have solutions indexed. During this period, numerous magazines and newspapers were issued by the women themselves, but also they played an active role in some societies established. Women’s beginning to be visible in the public sphere was even a gain on its own. These gains have led the women s issues be discussed in the light of universal themes and developments. Feminism subject has been the forefront. Feminism’s beginning to be known and discussed in the Ottoman Empire is associated with Constitutional Monarchy II. The importance of translations are undeniable in this respect. Ottoman intellectuals have done translations about the emerging and controversial theories in the West, for instance feminism. Without doubt, translations share in shaping the mentality.
