Abstract :
In this study, the concept of gift, will be analytically analyzed from an Anthropological perspective, by presenting examples from Turkey. Gift is a human specific feature and can be defined as the elegant invention of human being. Gift giving and gift taking practices can be learned through the socialization and culturalization processes and human being participating in this learning process becomes the central figure of the activity. All in all, the one who gives something as a gift, the presentee, the presented gift, the environmental factors, the organization and related rules will be discussed in this study.
