Abstract :
This survey was conducted with a total of 249 university students aged between 17- 26. According to the findings of the survey, it was found that 58,5% of the female students described themselves only as human beings and they didn’t need any other identity description.17,1% described their identity only as women. It was also found that 71,9 % of the male students described themselves only as human beings, 13,5% described themselves as nationalists. 47,3% of the students who described their identity only as human beings, showed affinity to CHP, 22,3% showed affinity to AKP while 77,8% of the students who described their identity as Atatürkist, showed affinity to CHP and 73,7% who described their identity as nationalists, showed affinity to MHP. 42,9% of the students who only described their identity as women showed affinity to ÖDP. It was found that 84,1 % of the students introduced themselves as Muslim.It is seen that the belief statuses are decisive about political preferences.It is understood from the findings that the religious beliefs and identity descriptions make differences in the political tendencies and the students are conscious about showing affinity to political parties.
