Abstract :
This study of Perceived Wellness Scale was developed by Troy, Bezner, and Steinhardt in 1997, and tested for admissibility and reliability by Memnun in 2005, as Study of Admissibility and Reliability of Percieved Wellness Scale. Our goal is to test this scale on professional table tenis players and to display the perception of wellness they have. One hundred fifty three table tennis players from Super League, 1. League and 2. Leagues was tested in this application. Standard alpha value for this application was found as p 0,05 and accepted during the process. All necessary articles for test and six subdimentions like emotional, physical, spiritual, social, intellectual, and psychological correlations were shown. For all article comparisons the significance level was found as p 0,05. As age of table tennis players was rising spiritual wellness was higher. Physical wellness was high in both groups. For female players answers like: ‘’physical health has had limited me in past’’ are quite probable. Psychological wellness is at the same distribution for male and female players, and it is at a high average. While looking at the averages of male and female players for social wellness the probability of support of friends in difficult times is higher for female players. While looking at the average of spiritual wellness for male and female players the probability of answers about the meaning of life in future is higher for male players. For emotional wellness the level of considering themselves as unnecessary individuals was higher for female players, while emotional wellness was higher in male players. The level of intellectual wellness was high in activities that require concentration. The possibility of approaching to the activities that require concentration was higher for male players.
