A Research on Organizational Commitment of Personal Working at Provincial Directorates of Youth and Sports in Aegean Region

The main objective of this study is to determine organizational commitment of personnel working at Provincial Directorates of Youth and Sports in Aegean region.141 male and 47 female individuals, 188 subjects in total from 8 provinces (Aydın, Uşak, Manisa, Denizli, İzmir, Afyon, Kütahya, Muğla) in Aegean region were involved in the study. For data collection, Organizational Commitment Scale developed by Meyer Allen (34) consisting of 9 questions was used as an instrument. Data were collected from subjects through face-to-face interaction and post. SPSS (16.0) was employed for data analysis at the significance level of 0, 05.Specifically, frequencies were computed for the analysis of demographic information, independent samples t-tests were performed for the comparison of participants’ responses to organizational commitment scale in terms of marital status and gender and lastly, one-way ANOVA was conducted for the comparison of questionnaire results in terms of, seniority and education. The outcomes of the data analysis demonstrated significant differences only between education levels and organizational commitments of participants (p˂0, 05).
