Abstract :
The methanol extract of Lagenandra toxicaria (Rhizome) was subjected to column chromatographic technique. The oil obtained, was subjected to GC-MS analysis and the chemical constituents present in the oil were identified as Methyl ester of 2-hydroxy benzoic acid, Diethyl phthalate, Oleic acid, Palmitic acid ethyl ester and Dioctyl phthalate. Diethyl phthalate was found to be the major constituent (89.461%).
