Abstract :
A novel microporous fluoropolymer with organic network architecture was prepared by the simple self crosslinking reaction of the monomer 9,10-Bis(pentafluorophenyl)-9,10-dihydroanthracene-2,3,6,7-tetraol. The high surface area and microporosity of the polymer was estimated by measuring N2 adsorption. The microporous fluoropolymer (MP) network exhibits BET surface area of 1050 m2/g. The micropore size distribution (MPSD) curve shows a high concentration of subnanometer pores which is commonly required for hydrogen storage and easy release. The hydrogen adsorption capacity of the MP is promising and the performance is comparable to other reported microporous polymers and commercial resins. Based on that, MP can be considered as a potential hydr ogen storage material
