Abstract :
The International Continence Society defines pelvicorgan prolapse as any stage of prolapse greaterthan zero. If this definition is used, 27-98% of womenwill have pelvic organ prolapse at some point in theirlives.1 It is estimated that women have an 11% lifetimerisk of reconstructive surgery for prolapse, urinaryincontinence or both, and a 29% risk of repeat surgeryfor these conditions.? Although the problem is oftenunrecognized, when symptomatic the functional impactcan limit women in their daily living activities.
