Abstract :
Translucency Evaluation of Esthetic Restorative Materials Which Waited in Different Beverages Aim: Translucency is one of the most important factors for natural appearance of restorative materials. The aim of this study was to evaluate transluceny changes of dental materials which were subjected into different beverage medias. Material and Methods: This study consists of five groups and each group had fifteen specimens. These groups are composed of Tetric ceram, Tescera, Estenia, Emax, Finesse. All groups were seperated into three subgroups. They were respectively immersed in tea, coffee cola and kept for four weeks in each sample. Specimens were fabricated with teflon molds of 10mm in diameter and 2mm height. Translucency of materials were calculated by using translucency parameter (TP) formula. Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test was used to evaluate the data. Results: Translucency changes of Tetric Ceram were statistically significant in all storage conditions (p 0.05). TP values of Tescera and Finesse did not statistically significant in the different storage conditions (p 0.05). Conclusion: Within the scope of this study it was found out that beverages changed translucency of composite resins and did not change the porcelain’s translucency.
