Abstract :
Implant dentistry has become successful with the discovery of the biological features of titanium. In the original two stage protocol, implants were loaded after 3-6 months healing period to ensure osseointegration. However, the discomfort and anxiety associated with waiting period remains a challenge to patients and clinicians. With the trend of shortening treatment time and increasing patient comfort, immediate loading implants has emerged as an alternate approach. In this case report, a 33-year-old man who was complaining about the fracture on his upper teeth, was referred to our clinic. After clinical and radiological examination, a fracture was identified in his upper right lateral incisor. Extraction of the tooth was decided because the fracture line was extended to bone level. After extraction, immediate implant placement and immediate loading was decided. After the preparation of the patient, the extraction was performed. Then the socket was curetted, and irrigated with clorhexidin solution. An implant with 3,8 mm diameter and 14 mm lengt was placed to the socket after drilling.Temporary abutment and temporary restoration was made after surgical procedure and the postoperative healing period was waited. 3 months later the provisional crown was removed and an impression was taken with a silicone based impression material. Then a zirconia based full ceramic restoration was made. Immediate implant apllications shows similar success rates for conventioanal method. Imediate loading offers many advantages for both patient and physician with shorthening the duration of treatment in suitable selected cases.
