Abstract :
Examination of the heat-conductive properties of different luting cements Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the thermal conductivity of luting cements with different content. Materials and Methods: Ketac Cem, Ketac Plus, Clearfil Esthetics, Bis Cem, Rely X U100, Multilink Automix, Rely X ARC and Variolink 2 were examined. These materials were prepared according to the manufacturer’s instructions and were applied to standard molds. Ten samples of each material were prepared. Measurements were taken using a Heat Conduction Unit (P.A. Hilton Ltd. UK). Heat conducting coefficient was calculated for each sample using the Fourier equation. Coefficients were statistically analyzed by the Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: Statistically significant differences were not found between the materials (p 0.05). Conclusion: Thermal characteristics were not affected by chemical composition of luting cements.
