Abstract :
This study was carried out at the internal consultant department in Al-Hakem general hospital in Al- Najaf Al-Ashraff governorate from 1/10/2008 to 31/5/2009, to describe some respects the relationship between obesity and colon disease, the total number of obese cases was one hundred which only represented the registered, with males preponderance (91%) compared with females. The cases were most frequent within the age group ( – 44 44 yrs ) (32.9%) and least frequent within the age group ( – 04 04 yrs ) (1.1%) with the bulk of cases occurring up to the age of (30 -69 yrs ) for males while the cases was most frequent within the age group ( 40 -59 yrs ) (33.3%) and least frequent within the age group (70 -79 yrs )(zero), with the bulk of cases occurring up to the age of (40 -59 yrs ) for females .(76.9%) of males obese where don’t have colon disease and (23.1%) have colon disease, while (66.7%) of female had colon disease and (33.3%) with out colon disease. (75.8%) of male don’t had familiar history with obesity, and (24.1%) who had familiar obesity, but in females (77.7%) don’t had familiar obesity and (22.2%) with familiar obesity .And lastly (21.9%) of males was suffer from diabetic and (78.1%) without diabetic disease. but in females (33.3%) with diabetic disease and (66.7%) without diabetic disease. This study recommended: prepare – based estimates of obesity and its associated risk factors in Iraq to detection the health problem that be related the obesity
