Abstract
In this study, the effects on some physical properties of the soil and the young shoot outputs of the field of various seed bed preparation methods used in beet agriculture in Konya Region were investigated. At the end of the study, the values of the volume weight of the seed beds were found to be varying between 0.98 and 1.26 g/cm3, the porosity values between 51.54% and 63.07%, weighted average diameter values between 4.34 and 6.24 mm, the surface irregularity values between 9.15% and 14.39%, aggregate stability values between 15.73% and 21.94%. Mean Emerge Duration (MED) varied between 14.06 and 14.52 days, Emerge Ratio Index (ERI) varied between 0.67 and 0.75 units/m. day and the young shoot outputs of the field varied between 65.97% and 59.58%.
