Abstract
The study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of native species parasitoid,Trichogramma evanescens Westwood and predator, Nesidiocoris tenuis(Reuter) in biological control of Tuta absoluta (Meyrick), detected our countryin 2009 and located main pest on tomato greenhouse, in the periods of September2011-April 2012. There were four treatments. These are: 1. Releasing of T. evanescens(T), 2. Releasing of N. tenuis (N), 3. Releasing of T.evanescens combinedwith N. tenuis (T+N) and 4. Control (C). Experiment was established as arandomized complete block design with three replications, and sampling wasmade once a week. The decrease rate of egg number of pest was 51.79 %, 47.80% and 79.68 % in the plots T, N and T+N, respectively, the decrease rate of larvawas 50.27 %, 37.77 % and 78.53 % in T, N and T+N plots, respectively. Theegg parasitization rate varies between 57.85 % and 59.25 %. The infestation rateof fruits were 11 %, 13 % and 4 % in the plots released egg parasitoid, predatorymirid and combined together, respectively, although 77 % was in the controlplot. In conclusion, promising results were obtained in biological control of T.absoluta when Trichogramma releases were combined with N. tenuis rather thanreleases of separately alone.
