Abstract :
Water is the basis natural resource for the society development and sustainable ecosystem. The rapid growth of cities and the urban population increase will raise the need to green space and the need for water will increase correspond-ingly. Native plants used on the urban green field have positive impacts on the environment such as water conservation is in the first place. This study was car-ried out to determine plant characteristics and yield of (Kochia scoparia L.) which needs less water and can be used as ornamental plants with its aesthetic, functional features in urban green areas, grow naturally in Central Anatolia Re-gion. Kochia scoparia L. seeds collected from the natural environment in Octo-ber of 2012 and it was planted in order to identify the plant characteristics and yield in different rows pacing (25, 50 and 75 cm) on April 24, 2013. Row spaces were not significant statistically. The average plant height, main stem diameter of plant, plant diameter and wet weight of plant were determined 34.91 cm and 6.96 cm, 20.13 cm and 92.22 g. respectively. yield of plant green herb is aver-age569.44 kg/da. Except life line water and fertilization, there was no irrigation in the research end it was done completely in dry conditions.
