Compared Of Al-Hasais By Ibnu Cinni And Al-Muzhir’s Fi Ulumi’l-Ga By Suyuti In Term’s Of Method And Contend

The Works of Ibnu Cinnî el-Hasâis and the works of Suyûtî al-Muzhir are the leading sources of Arabic language. Both works are worth getting use of them for the researchers in any fields of Arabic language. al-Hasais mostly deals with grammer, especially the topic of illet (reson and requirement) stuied in detail. As for, al-Muzhir it mainly deals with the topics of the language and literature. Therefore, the common points studied are very limited in deed. Ibnu Cinni mostly mentioned his teacher’s Abu Ali el- Fârisî’s views, mainly and most of the relations from him. Genarally, he discussed the authenticity of the views and relations which he narrated and gave the ones he favored priority. Beside those, he replaced his own views as well. Sometimes, on some topics, he remarked only his own opinions. He dealt with lots of basic topics of Arabic language in al-Hasais, which consists of nearly 160 parts. As for in al-Muzhir, Suyuti narrated others’ thouhts, but he did not omit to remark the author’s name and his work he quoted from. The narrations which he quoted out of other works sometimes took several pages, and sometimes contained a few short sentences. Within the work which consists of fifty parts, the writer mainly got use of the dictionaries written former and repotted the meaning of the words that mean different meanings. In addition to this, he also related from books of history, categories (tabaqat), poetry and news (akhbar). However, Suyuti did not put the knowledge quoted from other works before he had carefully investigated them. He also shortened them. In this study the two works have been compared. The same and different subjects the authors studied were pointed out by notifying the names and contents of them in each book. Intimately same topics and the ones differing ones with some word changes were remarked for one another. Within this study, the bibliography of both writers and information about their teachers were also presented. The book titles of outstanding works, especially the topics related with the language of Arabic were mentioned.
