Turkish Culture And Ahi-Order In Turkish Folk Literature

Poems, epics, legends, belief, and motives about ahi-order, are prevails among in most genres of Turkish folk literature and Turkish culture. Besides folk literature texts which appears sometimes as a legend on a craft, sometimes as a folk song, there are redundant examples of legends or belief based on ahi-sheikhs. These samples are very important in terms of showing reflections of ahi-order in oral tradition. This research will discuss traces of ahi-order in Turkish folk literature and oral tradition, and will indicate importance of ahi-order, as a Turkish organization, in the society and in the nation.
