Abstract :
Mevlevi order is a spiritual path constructed by Mevlana’s son Sultan Veled and senior student Hüsameddin Çelebi after his death. This spiritual path has been built by taking consideration of Mevlana’s ideas and actions. İn Mevlevi order the aim is to raise the complete person. Therefore dervishes are trained in schools named Mevlevihane. Mevlevihane has brought neyzen, semazen, penman and same similar artists to our world of art and culture in history especially Konya, Afyonkarahisar, Manisa, Halep, Gelibolu, Kastamonu, Eskişehir, Kütahya, Bursa, Yenikapı, Galata, Kasımpaşa and Bahariye Mevlevihane. Mevlevihane also raised many poets who have contributed to the development of our literature subh as İsmail Rüsuhi, Şahidi, Cevri, Fasih Dede, Adem Dede, Birri Dede, Neşati Dede, Sakıb Dede, Nesib Dede, Şeyh Galib, Esrar Dede, Leyla Hanım, Şeref Hanım, Keçecizade İzzet Molla, Vasıf, Ahmet Remzi Akyürek, Tahirü’l-Mevlevi, Muhammed Celâleddin Dede were important poets who had been trained by Mevlevi principles. These poets explained Mevlânâ, Mevlevi teaching and practices and elements of the Mevlevi order and wrote poem according to the tradition of divan poetry.İhsân Mahvi is a poet and mesnevihan who was educated at the Yenikapı Mevlevihane. He was born on 22nd August 1891 and died on 30th December 1936. His fathers name was Hayali Rıza Efendi and his was a merchant. He became Mevlevi at an early age and learned Arabic from Hoca Halis Efendi and Persian from Tahirü’l-Mevlevi. He learned Mesnevi from Celaleddin Dede and Esad Dede and recieved mesnevihan diploma. He was also a soldier and teacher, amongst his friends there were prominent poets and writers. His poems and articles were published in Beyanül-hak, Mahfil, Muhibban and Mektebli journals. On 1st of November 1927 Ziyaeddin Fahri Fındıkoğlu founded Turkish Folklore Associationand. İhsân Mahvi supported this association together with Diyarbakır Parliamentarian İshak Refet (Işıtman). Mahvi had very bad times because of being judged in the Independence Tribunal, After that he was acquitted. In this article information about the life of İhsân Mahvi will be given, the columns which he has written in newspaper and the text of his poems that we have reached via periodicals will be introduced.
