Heterotopic Mansion

After the Second World War the realization of the employment of workers with the Agreement made in 1961 between Germany and Turkey quickly puts interaction to Germany and Turkey. The migrations made for a short time became permanent after the right to family reunification. Immigrants who continue to stay in Germany and have the opportunity to compare their own countries and cultures add a new space to the world of summer when they decide to write their experiences.Şenocak, who does not belong to a working family and continues his education in Germany, has the opportunity to grow bilingual. Şenocak, who could not make sense to be directed to choose either side, could easily reconcile two different cultures and two languages in his mind, and a versatile writer and poet emerged. In his works well in Germany and Turkey, East-West, women and men were able to reach the synthesis of traditions of innovation by addressing the opposition.The struggle of the character who has difficulty in this synthesis in the novel of Köşk is presented to the reader on the route of Istanbul, Ankara, Munich. The cities of Munich and Istanbul, both of which bear the traces of the war, realize the post-war development at different points. While Munich maintains its traditional structure and focuses on different artistic activities, Istanbul is sacrificed for concrete by moving away from the traditional. Moreover, development is aimed only commercially and art is pushed into the background. These two cities, both receiving immigration, cannot equally benefit from this situation. Exposing the place to an unprecedented change in the events taking place in the two city axes, trying to harmonize the points that are incompatible with each other in new spaces, illustrates Foucault s heterotopias. Heterotopias, shaped by the values of each culture, are found in both cultures in the work.In this study, the etymology and meaning of the concept of space will be given first. Later, Foucault s classification will be started on heterotopia. Later, information about Immigrant Literature will be given and the life and works of Zafer Şenocak, one of the representatives of the second generation, will be mentioned and his literary personality will be mentioned. At this stage, interviews published in newspapers and magazines will be used. After the brief information about the content of the mansion novel, the heterotopic spaces in the work will be supported by quotations. Eclectic method will be used in the study. The meaning shifts of the real space in the historical process will be illuminated by heterotopias that have the feature of keeping incompatible elements together and differ in each culture.
