Abstract :
Ectopic secretion of adrenocorticotropic hormone(ACTH) related Cushing s syndrome (CS) is morefrequently observed than many other paraneoplasticsyndromes in patients with small cell lung cancer.Suppression of the cellular immune system in thesepatients is severe problem for both patients and physi-cians. In addition, the chemotherapy has been causedto severity and higher rate of hematological toxicity. We present a case of small cell lung cancer having avery poor prognosis, with a compressed humoral andcellular immune system due to an ectopic secretion ofACTH related CS. We report a rare case of combinedimmunosuppression in a case with small cell lung can-cer in this paper. In addition, in the light of this specialcase and literature, we suggest treatment strategiesfor small cell lung cancer patients with CS.
