Abstract :
The aim of this study was to evaluate the animals admitted to the Afyon Kocatepe University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department between the years 2001‐2009. Distribution of the species of 1.844 animals were 66.49% cattle, 26.74% dog, 2.17% cat, 1.68% mare, 1.52% buffalo, 1.25% sheep and goat 0.16% in total. The most common reasons of animal admittances were pregnancy diagnosis (43.02%), ovariohysterectomie (22.19%), genital tract examination (14.17%), mastitis (5.64%), retentio secundinarium (2.74%), inactive ovaries (2.03%), dystocia (1.57%), teat defects (1.52%) and metritis (1.22%). It was concluded that the number of animals admitted to the clinic was increased in parallel with funding the infrastructural and equipment requirements and, thereby, contributing the student training.
