Abstract :
This study was carried out with the aim of determining the changes occurring in duodenum, jejunum and ileum of quails exposing to light stress. For this purpose, 90 Japanese quails were used in the study and villus length, villus depth and crypt depth were investigated. Duodenum, jejunum and ileum of the animals were removed and fixed in 10% of- formalin solution and routine blocking was applied. The prepared sections were stained with hematoxylin-eosin. Required counts and measurements were made and statistical analyses were applied. The results of assessing from duodenum to ileum there was progressive reductions in villus widths and lengths, while gender and treatment were effective during the specific weeks. Although there was statistical difference in the crypt depths in duodenum, but both the gender and light stress were effective factors on the 4th week of jejunum. However, the effect of gender was apparent on the 5th week of ileum.
