Abstract :
Acardius amorphus is a rare anomaly in both humans and animals and is characterised with several malformation. In this report, a case of acardius amorphus was described in 3 years-old Holstein cow in the first pregnancy. In microscopic examination of the abnormal tissues, an irregular arrangement of connective tissue cells and a lot of large and small vascular structures were detected. Muscle-like structures stained in dark pink colour were observed among the connective tissues. Focal necrosis and perivascular mononuclear cell infiltrations were seen in these regions. In this case of acardius amorphus in a cow, described pathologically, is the first report in Turkey.
