Abstract :
Foot diseases are the most common disease group in veterinary medicine and include 15-25 % of all cattle diseases. In the aetiology of foot diseases of cattle, leg deformation, contusion, feeding, environment, genetic, bacterial, viral, parasitic and many other factors take role. Foot diseases are known to cause great economic losses and critical health problems. In cattle, foot diseases require medical care. Treatments are done either locally, parenterally or both. In this review, substantial information about the effect mechanisms of antibiotics used in foot diseases, main principals required for antibiotic treatments, possible reasons if antibacterial treatment is unsuccessful, the use of antibiotics during preg-nancy, and application types of antibiotics used in foot diseases were given.
