Abstract :
There is a necessity to take precautions against the potential biological threats during the experiments and studies in laboratories, and hence biosafety should be provided. For this reason, researchers, students and all the personnel including the maintenance and cleaning staff should have enough knowledge about the safety of the laboratory. In our country, the spread of the use of laboratory animals in academic studies in recent years and the initiation of feeding the increasing number of animal species as well as small animals; such as rabbit, guinea pig, rat, gerbil and hamster as a pet at home makes it even more important topic. In this review, we tried to provide actual informations on dangers that may occur in laboratory, zoonotic diseases and eradication of medical wasteges.
