Abstract :
Parasitic, bacterial, viral, and fungal diseases in bees have become important in terms of beekeeping sector. This survey-type study was made in order to determine bee diseases which beekeepers encountered in Erzurum. For this purpose, we interviewed totally 100 beekeepers in 20 districts of Erzurum. These 100 beekeepers have 10965 bee hive. As a result of the negotiations with the union beekeepers in the Erzurum; as of april 2014, it was detected that, there was 611 beekeepers registered all across. In Erzurum and these bee operation, there was 71809 bee hive. In the interviews; Varroosis in 20, Nosemosis in 12, American foulbrood in 17, European foulbrood in 18, chalkbrood disease in 14 and stonebrood disease in 2 of 20 districts were determined. Also in the interviews with 100 beekeepers from the center of Erzurum, it was determined that 93 of them had encountered with Varroosis, 32 of them with Nosemosis, 40 of them with American foulbrood, 46 of them with European foulbrood, 37 of them with the chalkbrood disease, and 2 of them with stonebrood disease. It was seen that rates of diseases were quite high in a present survey study. It was concluded that results of this survey study were needed to be confirmed by laboratory analysis.
