Abstract :
In this study, hearts from ten Malakan horses (5 male, 5 female) were used to investigate the cardiac arterial vascularization in Malakan horses. To demonstrate coronary arteries, colored latex was injected. After dissection, it was seen that cardiac arterial circulation is made by right coronary artery and left coronary artery. It was determined that right coronary artery is dominant. Left coronary artery, right coronary artery, interventricular paraconal branch, interventricular subsinuosal branch, left circumflexus branch, and right circumflexus branch were located under the subepicardial fat tissue. It was seen that ventricular branches of these vessels, on the other hand, had a subendocardial course initially, and continued as intramyocardially. It was observed in the hearts that they lacked left distal ventricular branch and angular branch. It was detected that one of the female Malakan horse hearts lacked left distal atrial branch. Left proximal atrial branch derived from left circumflexus branch. Coronary vessels except conal arteriosal branch took form of a terminal branch. Myocardial bridges over coronary arteries were not observed in Malakan horse hearts. In conclusion, a significant difference was not observed between male and female horses in terms of initial diameters and the course of coronary arteries in Malakan horses.
