  • Abstract
    The one of the most important factors that has an effect on effective and sustainable land use is the partiteness of lands and average parcel size. The one of the most important reasons of partiteness of land is law of inheritance selling lands in divided shares and expropriation. The studies generally looks to expropriation from the social and legal point of view. Until now, there is no study that deal with how expropriation changes parcels. In this study, effect of expropriation that has conducted within the nine reservoir irrigation projects of 12th Regional Directorate of State Hydraulic Works on the number of parcels and average parcel size. According to research results, it is observed that number of parcels of people has increased by 16,96 %, average parcel size has decreased 15,70 % and share of parcels whose area is less than 1 acres within total expropriation area has increased by 291,67%.
