Abstract :
In Ottoman Empire, the Rules of Procedure of the Civil Court was adopted in 1879 and it remained in force until 1927. This law has been issued to regulate the proceedings in the civil and commercial courts. The code which entered into force in 1879, has an objection to the signature and how the objection will be examined. With this study, it was tried to put forward the objection to the signature and the examination of the objection during the Tanzimat period by examining the legislation of the period, procedural books and appeal court decisions.
