Abstract :
Paediatric Palliative Care – What Does This Mean for Kuwait? Each year, children in Kuwait die from congenital or acquired conditions that range from a few months to many years, during which many must undergo extensive medical treatment. These children and their families need special medical care that has not existed in Kuwait until recently. Now this care will be provided by a team of specialists in paediatric palliative care who not only provide medical care and symptom relief, but also psychological, emotional and spiritual support. Professionals have come to recognize that the families of children with life-threatening conditions need the support of the medical team as much as the sick child does.
