Abstract :
The main goal of nutritional therapy for patients with cancer is to maintain or improve nutritional status sufficiently to allow for the initiation and completion of aggressive anticancer therapies, be this surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy or a combination, and further, to increase the patient’s functional capacity and quality of life, even in advanced cases. Quality of life is a critical outcome measure in oncology, and the provision of nutrients, either enterally or parenterally in the form of nutritional support, significantly contributes to the pres.
