Abstract :
Safe and reliable vascular access is essential for the treatment ofpatients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). During the past decade,a systematic exploration of the countless barriers to achievethis goal has been undertaken. The use of indwelling central venouscatheters (CVCs) has significantly enhanced the administrationof drugs to AML patients . Clearly, the maintenance oflong-term intravenous routes is one critical element minimizingCVC-related complications (such as infection, fibrin sheath formationand thrombosis) .
