Undang-undang Zakat di Negeri Kedah: Satu Tinjauan

The administration and management of zakat in Kedah are governed by specific laws and regulations in order to maintain smoothness in its overall management of zakat institution. Kedah is the first state which separates laws and regulations regarding zakat in its own enactment namely Zakat Enactment of Negeri Kcdah. In this enactment, the laws and procedures are neatly underlined, but in terms of its execution, an improvement need to be done to ensure the rules are really benefited by the one who pays zakat, the person who receives it and the people who manage it. This article will discuss on the various provisions and regulations concerning zakat management in Kedah. Further, an anlysis will be carried out on the contents of the regulations and laws enforced in order to see how far its implication contributes to the enhancement of zakat institution in Kedah.
