Abstract :
Objective: The study was conducted to determine the health school nursing students’ healthy lifestyle behaviors and influencing factors.Methods: The study is descriptive. Population of the study comprised 220 first, second, third and fourth class health school students from Hatay Mustafa Kemal University in 2010-2011 academic year. And the sample included 197 students who agreed to participate in the study.Data was collected by performing the personal information form and scale of healthy lifestyle behaviors. Frequency, percentage, t test, Mann-Whitney U, One-Way ANOVA and Tukey’s HSD test were used to evaulate the data. Results: Students’ healthy lifestyle behaviors general score is determined as 122.09 ± 16.93. Responsibility for nutrition and health sub-scale scores of female students were higher than males and significant (p 0.05). The exercise subscale mean scores of male students were significantly higher than female students (p 0.05). Conclusion: As a result, students’ healthy life style behaviors were generally found to be medium level in this study. Generating education programs by considering healthy lifestyle behavior influencing factors and making these programs a part of curriculum in a way of extending all years is recommended
