Caregiver Burden in Primary Caregivers of Patients Undergone Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Nursing Care

The treatment process of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation effect primary caregivers, as well as patients. The fact that caregivers leave their social environment, have difficulty in fulfilling their previous responsibilities and have financial issues combined with intensity of patients’ symptoms may lead to caregiver burden. Nurses have a key role for determining and relieving caregiver burden in terms of time spent with patients and their families. This review was written to point out caregiver burden in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation period and nursing interventions to decrease burden.
