The Optimum Conditions for Starting up Large Induction Motor

This thesis is an actual case study in an oil gas production plant in BAPETCO – Egypt, it describes the modifications done to the power management system (PMS) to overcome the difficulty of starting up the pre-compression compressor driven by an induction motor (11 k V, 10 MW) on two generators (25 MVA per each) by 105% grid voltage boosting technique, which was a problem facing the company.
