Abstract. To examine the monthly and spatial variability of theminimum temperature over the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), aset of data record of 57 years of monthly minimum temperature wasused in this study. Climatological values of mean minimum temperaturesand their spatial variability were illustrated for the differentseasons of the year. Then, significant regions in minimum temperaturewere described using yearly and monthly means minimumtemperature. The study revealed the presence of a permanent thermallow of minimum temperature over water area in the Red Sea andthermal high of minimum temperature over land area in Al Rub-AlKhali.
