Abstract :
Abstract. The effect of three different levels of saline irrigation water(2.1, 4.0 and 0.9 ds/m) was evaluated on broadbeans (Vicia faba L)grown on sandy soil. Salinity had a significant adverse effect on thebiomass yield of plants, where it was significantly lower (1982 g)under the higher saline irrigation water (4.0 dS/m) compared withthose at the 2.1 ds/m saline water (2016 g/tank) and control (2775g/tank). The weight of pods per plant and weight of grains per podwere significantly higher (85.8 and 7.8 g, respectively) at the lowersaline irrigation water (2.1 dS/m).
