Abstract :
Abstract. The relationship between the total amount of ozone contentwith the development of a cyclonic system that occurred in the period17 to 28 January 2005 has been studied. It was found that the totalamount of ozone increases and decreases with the development andweakening of the cyclonic system respectively. There is also a goodcorrelation between total amount of ozone with the thickness of heightbetween 1000-500 hPa and tropopause pressure. This strongrelationship between the total amount of ozone with these twoparameters was used to deduce a linear regression equation relatingthem. The residual method has been used to evaluate linear regressionequation relating the total amount of ozone with thickness of heightand tropopause pressure. The total multiple correlations reached 0.98after using two predictors. These results were deduced only from theshort data record and are to be taken as a preliminary study pendingfurther detailed examination.
