Abstract :
This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect cutting collection time as seasonal patterns of rooting, different IBA concentrations and treatment times on rooting of Al-Bayadi grape grown in Al-Taif region. Hard wood cuttings were collected during late autumn (December) and late winter (February) and subjected to IBA concentration at (0, 150, 300, 500 and 1000 ppm) with dipping time at (5 min., 2h., 12h. and 24 h.). Data were recorded on percentage of rooted cuttings, number length of primary and secondary root and root fresh and dry weight. Overall results showed that cuttings collected in February had higher rooting percentage (50.05 roots), more secondary root number (15.66 roots), longer primary (3.47 cm.) and secondary (1.40 cm.) roots compared to cuttings collected early in the dormant season (December). Auxin treatment time showed that number of primary and secondary roots and fresh and dry weight were the highest with the 12 h. treatment (7.61 16.03 roots respectively) and (1.05 and 0.95 g, respectively). Results obtained from treatments and the interaction showed significant differences at p≤0.01 for all traits under the interaction between auxin concentration and dipping time. The application with 300 ppm in 12 h and 24 h produced the highest values for the studied traits (rooting percentage, root number, root length and root fresh and dry Weight).
