IMPLEMENTASI KERANGKA PEMBANGUNAN ONTOLOGI DOMAIN MENGGUNAKAN PENDEKATAN TESAURUS, SUMBER RUJUKAN, JURUTERA PENGETAHUAN DAN PAKAR DOMAIN

There were a variety of difficulties that users have to face in searching for information through Internet. Past research had shown that users faced the problem of using vocabulary in searching for information through the web. Recent research justified that thesaurus is useful in building ontology as an aid to standardize terminologies and more importantly to save time in building ontology that fully depend on domain expert. This research discusses the problem in searching Islamic information and initiatives that have been taken to solve the problem. This research involves the development of ontology based on the proposed framework using symbiotic approach involving thesaurus, knowledge engineers and domain experts. The ontology on Acts of Worship that was developed based on the framework is then integrated into the existing prototype which is Islamic Extraction System (I-ES ®). Results showed that the ontology that was developed based on the proposed framework is able to access information that meets the users’ need.
