The Use of Fourier Descriptor for Geographical Profile Polygon Representations

There is a theoretical and experimental evidence that Fourier analysis is a powerful tool for tackling image processing problems. Its usefulness has been proven through its successful application in several fields. This paper describes the application of a new Fourierdescriptor for outlining geographical profiles to be used in reconstruction and recognition.
