Abstract :
Chromium molybdate Cr_2(MoO_4)_3 nanoparticles were synthetized via heating an oxalate precursor in static air at 600 °C. The precursor was studied by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), and it was analyzed by Fourier transform-Infrared radiation (FT-IR) spectrometer. The synthesized chromium molybdate was analyzed by Brunauer– Emmett–Teller technique (BET), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD), and its catalytic activity was tested. Chromium molybdate exhibits an efficiency in the catalytic oxidation and degradation of methylene blue with hydrogen peroxide. The oxidation was controlled using UV visible absorption measurements.
