Abstract :
An efficient and convenient procedure has been developed for the synthesis of thiazole derivatives by one-pot condensation reaction of isothiocyanates, thiourea and ethyl bromopyruvate under environmentally solvent free conditions. The ability of some synthesized compounds to scavenge the DPPH radical was measured and the results proved this observation. Moreover, the antimicrobial activity of some synthesized compounds proved by employing the disk diffusion test on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The obtained results of disk diffusion test showed that compound 4a-4d prevented the bacterial growth.
