The Knowledge, Attıtude And Behavıor Related To Usıng Drugs Reflected By The Group Of Elderly

The aging process brings with it physiological and psychological problems. One of the most important problems encountered in this process, the elderly, difficulties encountered in using of drugs. The aim of this study, evaluated the knowledge, attıtude and behavıor related to usıng drugs reflected by the group of elderly. The study was conducted from 1 September to 1 October 2010. 165 of them accepted to be involved in the study. The study group mean age of 71.0 ± 8.9 and55.2% were women, 50.3%-third were married, 31.5% of secondary school graduates, 52.7%percent retired, 86.7% percent of social security, 60.0% then living with his family , 85.5% I donot use drugs regularly, 61.1% received no information about drugs, 56.9% with heart disease,67.8% percent of antihypertensive drugs, 61.3%-third is composed of the elders who know thepurpose of drug use. Education level of statistical significance between the use of regularmedication with (X: 66.11 SD: 5 p 0.05). As a conclusion, the majority of old people not usingtheir medication regularly and did not have adequate knowledge and skills in the use of drugs havebeen identified.
