Abstract
A novel fluorescent dicarboxylic acid bearing a long alkenyl side chain, (Z)-l,7-nonadecadiene-2,3-dicarboxylic acid. was isolated from cultures of a while-rot fungus Ceriporiopsis subvermispora. This is the first report of a microorganism that produces an amphiphilic itaconic acid derivative with a long aliphatic side chain.
