Abstract :
A field experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of different phosphorous (P) fertilizers forms and rates on the nutrients content and uptake in head lettuce grown on a calcareous soil. The effect on some selected soil chemical properties (salinity, pH, total N, available P and K) were also investigated. Four P fertilizer types (Single super phosphate (SSP), Di ammonium phosphate (DAP), Mono ammonium phosphate (MAP) and a local phosphate rock (PR)) were laid out as main plot treatments, and five P application rates (0, 125, 250, 375, and 500 kg P2O5/ha) as subplot treatments. Plant P content significantly influenced by the P Fertilizer type and rate. P fertilizer type and rate interaction showed a significant effect on nutrients uptake and soil available P. Neither P fertilizer form nor rate demonstrated a significant effect on the other examined soil chemical properties.
