Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to investigate the communication process and commitment among the subordinates of Istana Budaya Kuala Lumpur which is the only one performing art government organization. The success of an organization such as Istana Budaya Kuala Lumpur relies on the workers’ commitment in achieving a desired aim while the commitment of its members can be directly focused through the communication process that transpires in any complex organization. This descriptive study uses a structural questionnaire of 32 items as its tool. 100 respondents were chosen from the subordinate members of the organization’s workforce. The quantitative data were statistically analysed using Statistical Package for Social Science and revealed that most respondents gave positive feedback about the communication process and that they are highly committed in performing their duties at Istana Budaya Kuala Lumpur. This current state enables IBKL to realise its foremost motto of staging a World-Class performing art and concurrently staging a few series of local amateur performing arts.
