THE PERPSECTIVES OF COMMUNITY SOCIO-ECONOMY IN THE SELECTED BOOKS BY AZIZI ABDULLAH

Throughout his books, Azizi Abdullah often shows the life of the village community. Along with the bond with families. Alas, he focuses on the survival of the family life despite using different genres with various themes in his writing. The Malay community‟s economic landscape tends to farm, and subsistence becomes the main topic in his creations. The back story was basically about life in the village through his storytelling, which attracts the public about the hardship in real life. Still, he always emphasizes the strong bonding of bigger families despite they were far from having the comfort of basic infrastructure. This was shown in the 35 novels Azizi wrote. The gender role, and the impacts of the economy, allowed the villagers to migrate to the city was another thing in his writings. The emergence of technologies changes the methods of farming in the village. Aside from that, it was beneficial for community mobility. The fundamentals of the rulers develop and modernize villagers. Though, it has the downside in the family while it secures the economy. These situations were shown in his novels as Senja Belum Berakhir, Harga Sebuah Maruah, Tukcai, and Seorang Tua di Kaki Gunung. For this, the researcher using the qualitative method, the researcher read the books meticulously, and did a writing sources assessment. As for that, the materials underwent deep textual and contextual analysis. Azizi using his writings as the platform to voice out his critics, sentiments, and opinions about the problems in the community socio-economy.
